I'll have my cake & eat it too! | NY

During my visit to New York, I knew I had to visit the famous landmarks of the city. The list is long and I felt pretty fulfilled after marking each one as done. My stay in the big city was a mere 4 days and it was fast and furious from start to finish. My friend let me crash her pad while I was in town and joined me on the weekend for some birthday celebration fun! Nights out on the town, drinks, dancing, eating some amazing food and lots of sightseeing! I made new friends and experienced the New York lifestyle to the fullest! Eating way too much, staying out way too late (4am!) and walking EVERYWHERE. My feet hated me after those 4 days.

Regardless of the foot pain, I had such a great time!! I spent a day roaming the streets, listening to live music and eating hot dogs in Central Park, checking out Grand Central Station and The Chrysler Building. That evening in celebration of my birthday my friend and I went to a delicious dinner at Rosemary’s and had drinks at a speakeasy bar called Bathtub Gin. Like all speakeasies, this place was dimly lit and had a true 1920s feel to it. Unfortunately we missed the burlesque dancers that night... We spent the weekend being complete tourists. Rented Citi bikes and rode to Brooklyn Bridge, walked to ground zero, through China Town and Little Italy. Stopping at a bunch of local shops and restaurants and finally made our way back to her apartment. The next day was a much easier day. I visited MOMA and met up with my friend for a Saints football game at her local bar. As much as I love doing the touristy stuff when visiting new places I truly enjoy doing things with the locals. Our day ended at Artichoke Pizza where I got photobombed. (check out my photos from the trip for that one!) and an amazing view of the city from Top Of The Rock.

My last day in the big apple was just as busy. I started bright and early to take a boat tour to see the Statue of Liberty, followed by lunch and art viewings at The High Line, and a little more sight seeing in Times Square. I finished the 6.1 mile bike ride through Central Park and packed it up to come home. New York, you wore me out! But... I'll be back!
