Northern Arizona and all its beauty

Northern Arizona and all its beauty

After living in Arizona for over 13 years I decided it was time. Time to check out one of the 7 wonders of the world. THE GRAND CANYON. The views are gorgeous and what a massive natural wonder! But after spending the weekend exploring other parts of Arizona and all its natural beauty, my Oohh's and Ahh's were left behind in Page, AZ. Yup! I said it! Page had so many beautiful sites to see. I cant believe I hadn't been before. Antelope Canyon. Wow! Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell were also breathtaking.

I can't even begin to express how beautiful Antelope Canyon was. The pictures you see online are real! I would highly suggest taking the lower canyon tour. We went with a company called Ken's tours. They have guides going out every five minutes. It's an easy walk down and well worth it. Our tour guide was awesome! He was extremely camera savvy and adjusted everyones settings to take the best possible pictures. Super helpful! Check out my pics below :) Those were taken with a simple Fujifilm XP. Nothing too fancy!

Visiting horseshoe bend around sunset is ideal. Take a bottle of wine or a couple of beers, sit and enjoy the changing colors of the canyon. This could be a pretty romantic spot. People spend the whole day with their tripods set up to capture the colors as the sun moves across the sky. I could have easily spent more time there.

Lake Powell was FUN! Although we didn't rent a boat, a simple kayak rental did the job. We spent a couple hours kayaking to the nearest beach area and took a little dip. The water was surprisingly clear and very smooth. Perfect for stand up paddle boarding or kayaking.

I love staying in unique hotels when traveling. I usually end up in the oldest most historical or "haunted" one I can find. I love all the charm and history and even the smells are sometimes welcoming. When searching the web for a cute place in Page I stumbled across Suites on 10th. Not at all what I expected from the initial picture of the property but loved my stay and was greeted by the owner of the property upon arrival. Not only was he super friendly but also had a few great dinner suggestions. The unit was extremely clean and newly remodeled. Full kitchen, master bedroom and living room. Compared to other hotels in the area this is by far the best option in my opinion. :) I would do this trip again any day!
