This Is 30 | Seattle | Vancouver

Guys!! I'm 30 years old!!! Whhhhaaattt?!! For years I have been saying "I look forward to my 30's" Well, that time has come and I'm REALLY happy to be where I am. Bring on my next 30 years, I look forward to those too! (insert Tim McGraw song here) I started this blog a little over 2 years ago and boy have I been lucky! Lucky enough to travel to so many new places between here and there! I feel truly blessed! I also feel like the bar has been set for birthday vacations! 2014 I got to visit my friend Ashley in NY, my first time in the big apple. 2015 my best friend and I partied our way through Thailand - such an epic trip and probably my favorite as of now!! 2016 I went to Seattle for a couple days then took the train to Vancouver Canada. I seriously can't get enough! Every time I travel I try to visit a new place. Although I had already been to Seattle a couple times, I figured it would be a few good days before jumping into a whole new experience. Plus, I love going to the market for fresh tuna tartar. I could eat that everyday!

My visit in Seattle was a little bit of a repeat but always a great time! Visiting one of my favorite restaurants - The London Plane - One of my favorite bars in town- The White Horse and a really cool speakeasy called Bathtub Gin. I checked out this place in NY last year. Although the location in Seattle was a lot smaller, it had the same decor and vibe. Pretty cool place! We did a lot of walking around and window shopping, drank a lot of coffee, embraced the Seahawk fans and ate so much good food! Oh! Can't forget this... I also got the worst henna I've ever seen in my life! lol Don't trust that lady by the pier! lol I spent the weekend trying to cover it up haha!

We of course did the touristy things such as the Space Needle, Pikes Market, ate an amazing birthday dinner on the pier at The Fishermans restaurant and took a little tour of Seattle on the Wings over Washington ride which was short but fun!! Our Airbnb was right next to Pikes Place Market so we were centrally located and walked everywhere.

The morning after my birthday we had to wake up really early to catch the train to Vancouver. This was my first time taking a train in the US. It was just as simple as taking one in Europe!  We took the Amtrak Cascades and it was a short 4 hour ride into Canada. Getting through security/immigration was quick and we were in a cab within minutes to our new airbnb.

Vancouver wasn't exactly what I had pictured but I'm glad I went. I always like seeing new places and it was my first time in Canada! This was a really low key trip. We checked out a few places I had on my must do list. Stanley Park which was just gorgeous! I think this was the first time I've experienced real fall. The weather was amazing, the views - incredible and the raccoons running around were just the cutest thing ever! I want to bring them all home! For lunch we stopped in at Stanley's bar & grill where I had the best veggie burger and again was greeted by many raccoons that just hangout in hopes of being fed i'm sure.

Another fun adventure was Capilano Suspension Bridge - 450ft across and 230ft above the Capilano river. It was an adrenaline rush and the park has a lot of fun adventures! It was raining which I think deterred a lot of tourists from stopping in which was ideal for photos. I don't mind a little rain, do you?!

We wondered through Yaletown and Gastown, had a few drinks at some great bars in the area and just enjoyed being in a new place surrounded by new people!  The next morning we walked down to take the ferry to Granville Island. I loved it! It was literally a 3 minute ferry ride to the island but it was so cute. Again, lots of great food options, art and many homemade crafts which I can't seem to get enough of. My days of partying till the sun came up in vegas at 21 to just being in the moment at 30 sure is a complete 180! Haha!

Well... Here is to another fantastic year and celebrations! To travels, new friends, old friends and many many more years of fun ahead!!! This is 30!
