Hey!

Life as you know it

Life as you know it

I feel that someones workspace is the key to a successful job/life/hobby whatever you want to call it. Weather that is accounting, blogging, designing or cooking! Your space must feel like "your own". You should feel inspired and you should feel like you want to be there. Although I unfortunately don't have that in my 8-5 daily job, I sure do have that at home! That being said, I don't have a full blown office. I have a little nook in my living room area, but every time I look that way, I smile and I want to get to writing and designing! Inspiration is a must in my life and it's the little things (and big things) in my work space that make it perfection for me! I thought I would share my life "as you know it" so here is my home sweet home and the tiny area that makes me want to grow... The memories from my tiny trinkets and the feeling of accomplishment I receive from looking at my world map with little pins means the most and it reminds me that the world is large and life is short so go get em' tiger!

I bought this amazing map at home goods and to be honest, I had no idea where it would fit in my place. As soon as I walked it in the door, I knew where it should go. Although this wasn't an expensive piece at all, it just might be my favorite and "most valuable" in my home - sentimental value that is. Aside from that, of course I have a pin board of pictures of my favorite memories. Friends, family, relationships. All the things I cherish in life. I now realize I'm missing so many pictures here. The tiny trinkets that sit on a the lamp shelf also hold so much meaning in my heart. All amazing trips I have taken. Some of my favorites and with people I cherish weather they know if or not. My 1st time out of the country (London and Paris). The lucky pig from Chicago and the amazing rocks that cover the beaches of Cinque Terre in Italy. I put a stop to those trinket collections because I'm kinda anal when it comes to a ton of stuff on shelves. So now, my alternative is postcards! Anytime I travel out of the country, I send myself a postcard and have everyone who is with me write a message. I don't read the messages until I get home! It takes weeks so by the time I receive it, I have forgotten about the postcard altogether and it brings back so many memories and a puts a HUGE smile on my face. The money on my map just kinda happened. I refuse to convert my money back into american dollars because I insist I will visit again. So, I save my bills and I placed them on my map to remind me that "Hey! You have to go back! you have money to spend!" easy excuse right?!  Now the most meaningful piece again is my map. Every time I travel, I place a pin in that location. I know, you've seen it a million times. But... This one is special! Why?! Because it is mine and I can't wait to fill it up! :)

So all, this is life as you know it. and I couldn't be happier to share it with you. Thanks again for following me as I continue down this path and continue to grow, explore and live life to the fullest! #followyourdreams Cheers!
